Steins;Gate Review

Synopsis:
Steins;Gate is set in the summer of 2010, approximately one year after the events that took place in Chaos;Head, in Akihabara. Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN, who has been doing their own research on time travel, tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

Review:
What do you honestly do when you can time travel? Do you go back in time or into the future? There is unlimited possibilities, and Steins;Gate shows us that not all time traveling is all fun, and games. The story was good enough to keep people’s attention throughout the anime although if you asked me they could have added more characters to the mix with an anime that has 24 episodes. The animation for this show was top notch, and other anime should definitely model their shows from Steins;Gate. All of the characters were unique in their own ways, and it really showed as the series progressed towards the end. One more thing that comes to mind was how good the musical scores for this show were. Really was amazed overall on how well done this anime was.

While I was amazed on how this show was there are a couple things that this show didn’t do right. For example if there are 24 episodes, why would you not add more characters instead of just showing them all in the first 10 episodes? It made no sense to do this because if you really want to keep an audience entertained till the long run you got to introduce new characters no matter how small their role is. It really was tiring seeing all the same characters over and over as Okabe was time traveling. It felt like I was watching a recycled show sometimes. Another small thing that irritated me was how they would drag some things for way to long, and while it wasn’t anything major it does show sometimes. You always want to keep things fresh so people can feel like there watching something new not old.

In my honest opinion I truly think this show is really good, I just think that it’s a little overrated by all the hype it generated by people. It isn’t a masterpiece but definitely something that I would have on my bookshelf. Unique characters and story are what most people were drawn to, and that is what makes Steins;Gate really good. The ending could have been a little better but it’s never a bad thing to have a happy ending. With all the doom and gloom this show had, they really did a good job of trying to relieve that with funny jokes and relaxing comedy. For anybody who actually reads my reviews and enjoys reading them, I am truly sorry for the wait for another one. I have been working a full time job, and really had no time to relax and do a review which I love to do on my free time. Thanks for the patience.
